Christie Skousen is the Founder and Owner of the Peery Piano Academy in Mountain View, CA and is the author of the Peery Method. Christie began piano lessons at the age of 5 with her mother, Dr Irene Peery-Fox. She has also studied in Moscow with Dmitri Boshkirov at the Gnessin School of Music and at the Peabody Institute with Leon Fleisher.
Her students are frequent competition winners and symphony soloists. They have gone on to attend some of the best colleges and learning institutions in the world including Harvard, Yale, Juilliard, UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Aspen, University of Illinois, UCSB, University of British Columbia, Utah State University and Brigham Young University. Christie's favorite thing about teaching is when her students form their own connection to music. She is grateful for the opportunity to give them the tools needed to reach their full potential in music and in life.
Christie is available to teach students enrolled in the Peery Mastery program at Peery Piano Academy in Mountain View, CA and also trains teachers to become Certified in the Peery Method.
